Bali Implements a Modest Entry Tax for Tourists: Here’s What Visitors Need to Know

The Bali Tourist Tax, also known as Bali Levy, is a recent initiative aimed at supporting the sustainability of the island’s tourism industry. This article will delve into the details of this new policy, how tourists can pay the levy, and the broader goals behind its implementation.

How to Pay Bali Tourism Levy

Starting from February 14, 2024, every foreign tourist planning to visit Bali is required to pay the Bali Tourism Tax before their arrival. The payment process is streamlined through the Love Bali website or application, designed by the Bali Provincial Government to implement their Comprehensive Development Plan. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to pay the Bali Tourism Levy:

  • Visit lovebali.baliprov.go.id or download the Love Bali App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Input personal and payment information, including passport number, name, email address, and arrival date.
  • Choose from various payment methods available for convenience.
  • Complete the payment of Bali Tourism Tax, set at IDR 150,000 per person, according to the selected payment method.
  • Receive a levy voucher in the form of a QR code, which will also be sent to the provided email address.
  • Upon arrival at the Bali airport, the QR code will be scanned by the officer for verification.

Love Bali serves as a platform for tourists to contribute to the preservation, revitalization, and conservation efforts in Bali.
