Liveaboard diving in Indonesia

Dive more and experience more with liveaboard diving in Indonesia on La Galigo

La Galigo is recognised as one of the most popular liveaboard diving in Indonesia and offers trips to famous diving locations such as Komodo and Raja Ampat. Indonesia holds the record for the greatest amount of marine biodiversity on the planet, and is home to an extensive part of the Coral Triangle.

The concept of La Galigo was conceived back in the early 2000s, when two avid divers wanted to explore some of the pristine reefs that call Indonesia home, but found that most of the existing scuba diving options available at the time were often out of their budget.

La Galigo Liveaboard is very much a friends and family affair, and trips are always focused on fun, and guest comfortability, and are exceptional value for money.

Our Ultimate Komodo tour offers guests a seven night itinerary to explore the entirety of Komodo National Park.

The islands of Komodo are located at the western most point of Flores in Indonesia. Its location is nestled centrally between the Indian and Pacific oceans, and with tidal movements between these oceans comes an abundance of nutrients, attracting a vast array of marine life.

From warm, shallow, and colourful coral reefs bristling with life, to current swept deeper cooler submerged seamounts. The diversity of marine life in Komodo makes it one of the best diving destinations in the world, so make sure you bring an extra battery for your camera as you will need it!

A liveaboard trip is the only way you could truly experience as much of Raja Ampat as possible, and La Galigo offers an (aptly named) itinerary called, ‘Ultimate Raja Ampat’. It runs for eleven nights and journeys from Waisai up around to the northern islands then right down to the south, spending a few days in Misool and stopping at every dive-worthy site along the way, before heading back up to Sorong.

You should be expected to be blown away by the diving, but the boat is impressive enough in itself. The vessel can sleep fourteen guests and seventeen crew, yet with its traditional Phinisi design and teak interior, it feels rich and spacious, even in the ‘smaller’ cabins.

You will be most impressed by the tiled and roomy bathrooms, the fresh, soft towels and the incredibly comfortable mattresses and soft cotton sheets.
