Rare Sighting: Pods of Pilot Whales in Raja Ampat!

We’ve been fortunate to witness some of the most breathtaking marine life in Raja Ampat. But every now and then, nature surprises us with something truly extraordinary. During one of our recent trips to Misool, we were lucky enough to spot pods of pilot whales —a rare and unforgettable sight!

Pilot whales are highly social creatures, often traveling in large groups. While the archipelago is home to an incredible variety of marine life, encountering pilot whales is not an everyday occurrence. Their presence in these waters remains elusive, making moments like these even more special.
